Dawnlands is an open-world RPG developed by Seasun Games, where players must survive and craft in a wilderness inspired by Breath of the Wild, Minecraft, and Genshin Impact. Unlike many other games, Dawnlands does not rely on gacha mechanics to pressure players to spend money. The game has successfully completed beta testing and is now available for download. As one of Android's top games, it's worth diving into its world with a beginner's guide.
To enjoy the best audio-visual performance, we recommend playing Dawnlands on PC with MuMu Player X!
In contrast to Breath of the Wild, you do not begin with a pre-made character. Instead, you can create your own character with limited options. These include selecting presets for facial features, hair/eye color, and skin color. Once you have made these selections, you can input a name to bring your custom character to life.
Dawnlands offers three game modes: single-player, sandbox, and multiplayer. Similar to Minecraft, each mode involves creating a world connected to a save file. Your gameplay experience will differ depending on the chosen save/world and game mode.
Start by experiencing the single-player mode to learn about crafting, questing, and exploring. Once you reach level 8, you can access the sandbox mode for select areas. Don't forget to upload world saves to the cloud before playing on other devices.
Crafting involves collecting materials, using tools to chop down trees, digging treasure chests, mining ore, and learning new recipes. You can earn recipes by rousing a statue, completing quests, and using crafting points to unlock items. We recommend prioritizing the crafting of a Private Chest and Storage Box, as inventory space is limited in the early stages of the game. This will reduce the need for frequent trips to store excess items.
To create new furniture, access build mode and place the furnishings within the designated grid space. You are able to rotate and adjust the angle as long as it fits within the grid. To match the orientation of your furnishing, move your character accordingly.
Your main priorities in the game are to maintain your health and hunger levels. Engaging in battles with monsters during nighttime can be hazardous. To avoid this, it is advisable to carry a bed with you and sleep through the night. To prepare food, you must set up a fire, select the desired food/recipe, and wait for it to cook. Be cautious not to leave it for too long, or you may end up with charcoal instead. The game is similar to Minecraft in this aspect.
To optimize your inventory, both weapons and crafting tools share slots and have durability. It's best to carry a single melee weapon, such as a sword, and store a bow along with arrows. However, in case of emergency, you can craft weapons while out in the wilderness.
At the beginning, you will train a horse to travel faster, but later on, you will unlock teleportation as your main transportation mode. However, teleporting to quest locations may require a Teleportation potion, so use it wisely.
To improve your combat skills, you can create rare weapons, hone your monster-slaying abilities, and visit a Statue to boost your attributes and learn new talents. Additionally, using Star Dust and Obsidian Dust can increase your maximum health and stamina, which will enhance your overall survivability in battles.
The game may feel like a Breath of the Wild clone, even more so than Genshin Impact (initially), but it still has enough unique features to make it stand out on Android. If these themes appeal to you, the game is now available for download. Don't hesitate to dive into the wilderness and start your adventure.
