Black Clover M Beginner Guide: Gear and Sets

Black Clover Mobile: Rise of the Wizard King is an turn-basede gacha game developed by Vic Game Studios, and its global publisher will be Garena. This article is designed for newbies in Black Clover M. Let's see what you should take care of about characters in your novice stage.

 

Gear

Gear is probably the most important thing in the game! You have the same type of rarities with Gears, just like characters, from R to LR. Gear is farmable in specific dungeons.

 

Here are the 3 dungeons available: Red, Blue and Green. In these dungeons, the recommended teams are all Mono Teams (which means a single color team of counter element. For example, in the Red Dungeon, you are expected to use a Blue Team.)

 

• Red dungeon - ATK, Speed and DEF sets
• Blue dungeon - CRIT Rate and HP sets
• Green dungeon - CRIT DMG and Penetration sets

 

Also, there are 2 types of Gear: Base Gear and Golden Gear.

 

Golden gear has a gold border around the icon and it starts dropping from the Stage 10 in each of the gear dungeons - that's the gear you want to focus on. Treat the base gear as placeholders (as in use the pieces for the main stats boost, but don't force yourself to finish a set). For example, a UR base gear piece with MATK main stat will give you a bigger boost than 2x SSR set pieces.

 

So the priority for equipping gear is as follows:

 

• Higher rarity - it's always better due to the massive boost to the main stat
• Correct main stats - MATK/ATK on attackers/supporters/debuffers, DEF or HP on defenders (but there are some exceptions to that)
• Correct gold border set with correct main stat

 

Note: Equipping 3x 2-piece sets is better than going for 1x 4-piece set and 1x 2-piece set. Simply because to activate a 4-piece set you're forced to equip gear pieces with HP/DEF main stats and this is bad especially for offensive characters.

 

Gear Sets

Gear Sets in Black Clover Mobile ones are split into basic and advanced ones. You can recognize the advanced gear sets by a golden border surrounding the icon. The advanced gear sets start dropping from the 10th stage of each gear dungeon.

 

Basic Gear Sets: Red Dungeon

• ATK: (2) - ATK +220 and MATK +220; (4) - Damage +10%
• DEF: (2) - DEF +250; (4) - DEF +20%
• SPEED: (2) - Gain Speed +20% buff for 1 turn after getting afflicted by a Abnormal Status; (4) - Gain Speed +4% buff for 1 turn at the start of the battle

 

Basic Gear Sets: Blue Dungeon

• Accuracy: (2) - Accuracy +10; (4) - Accuracy +10% and CRIT Rate +5%
• CRIT Rate: (2) - Gain Crit Rate +10% when HP is above 70%; (4) - Gain Crit Rate +10% buff for 2 turns if last attack wasn't a critical hit
• HP: (2) - HP +2000; (4) - HP +10%

 

Basic Gear Sets: Green Dungeon

• CRIT DMG: (2) - Gain Crit DMG +10% before using Special Skill; (4) - Crit DMG +10%
• CRIT RES: (2) - Crit RES +4%; (4) - Gain a 20% chance to block Debuffs for 2 turns at the start of the battle
• PEN: (2) - PEN +5; (4) - DEF PEN +10%

 

Advanced Gear Sets: Red Dungeon

• ATK: (2) - ATK +7% and MATK +7%; (4) - Damage +15%
• DEF: (2) - DEF +30%; (4) - DEF +40% and Endurance+8%
• SPEED: (2) - Gain Speed +5% buff for 2 turn at the start of the wave; (4) - Speed +5

 

Advanced Gear Sets: Blue Dungeon

• CRIT Rate: (2) - Crit Rate +5%; (4) - Crit Rate +10%
• HP: (2) - HP +7%; (4) - Recover 10% HP at the start of each turn

 

Advanced Gear Sets: Green Dungeon

• CRIT DMG: (2) - Crit DMG +7%; (4) - Crit DMG +15%
• PEN: (2) - PEN +7; (4) - DEF PEN +15%
